LauraFrom a very young age Laura has been fascinated with the beauty and grace of all dance forms. After small explorations into tap, jazz, and hip hop, as well as a six year long love affair with synchronized swimming, Laura launched herself into the world of bellydance and has been a part of Laura’s life since 2004. Since the discovery of Tribal style bellydance as well as Tribal Fusion style bellydance, her dancing has grown and morphed into a style all her own. In 2006 Laura was asked to join Zaghareet! Tribal Belly Dance with whom she enjoyed two amazing and dynamic years. In addition to dancing with Luna Dance Fusion, Laura is also a member of Edmonton’s Vibe Tribe. Laura has been fortunate enough to study with Shahenda, Aurora and Brandi (Edmonton), and has taken workshops with Sonia (BDSS), Petite Jamilla (BDSS), Kami Liddle, Ariellah, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, and Mardi Love of the Indigo, Amy Sigil of UNMATA, Paulette Rees-Denis of Gypsy Caravan, Gypsy Fire, Tribaltique, Lava, and Heather Stants of Urban Tribal. Laura looks forward to continuing to push the boundaries of bellydance!
Aizlin It is with great love and appreciation that Luna bids Aizlin adieu, she who has brought such an elegant and unflappable presence to Luna.
Now we venture deeper into the nocturne, as two, and already new inspirations flow that you, fair audience will see soon enough. To mark this new direction, a shift in the paradigm has also occurred in the form of a creative co-leadership of the incomparable Laura West and myself. - Saskia |
